Simple Ways To Avoid Traffic Tickets

Some basic things that a person can do avoid traffic tickets:

  • Don't leave your license at home;
  • Change your address if you move;
  • Check your license to check if it is still valid and has not expired;
  • Renew your license, registration and insurance before they expire;
  • Check your glove compartment to make sure that the vehicle you are driving is properly registered, inspected and insured - even if it is not your car;
  • Make sure your registration has not expired and that the make, year and car model as well as the VIN number matches your car;
  • Make sure you have a valid up to date insurance i.d. card and that the make, year and car model as well as the VIN number matches your car;
  • Wear your seatbelt;
  • Make all passengers wear their seatbelts and if you have kids make sure they are properly seated in child safety seats;
  • Do not drink and drive, you can be convicted for drunk driving - remember the law has changed the legal alcohol levels from .10 to .08;
  • If you use a cell phone in your car, as of 7/1/04 you must use a hand=s free device;
  • Do not draw attention to your car, tinted windows and a loud stereo raises attention;
  • Be aware of the speed limit and changes in speed limit - including construction zones where fines are doubled.
