What Types Of Cases Are Heard In Municipal Court?At the lowest level of our justice system or local level or town level, we have what is referred to as "Municipal Court" or "Town Court". Above the Municipal Court is the Superior Court of New Jersey, which handles a variety of different types of matters ranging from personal injury cases to divorce and criminal matters. Above the Superior Court is the Appellate Division, which sits in review of the Courts below.
